My daughter is engaged, bh. She's a little older, and more introverted, so she has a few hs friends, a few seminary friends, but I don't think anyone who would take charge of shtick. I don't think I've been to a wedding that didn't have at least arches. Is it acceptable today to rent shtick ourselves, or should I call one of her friends and ask them to take care of it and offer to pay?

You could ask one of her closer friends or maybe a close cousin th have the job of being in charge of shtick. See if there’s a gemach in your area, most frum communities have at least one, that way you don’t have to worry about whether to offer to pay. You could even provide the person with the gemach contact info

I was older when I got married and even though my grade had shtick it wasn't in good condition, so the girls chipped in to borrow from a gmach. I assume they charge a small fee to borrow if it's nice shtick ex. parachute, roses, mazel tov signs, umbrella. Best to ask a close friend to take care of this.

You can bring it to the hall and at the hall ask one of her close friends who will be there the whole time to be in charge of bringing it out.
