Yup! Syrian. The week after my son was born my mom took my to buy a dress and headpiece. The morning of the bris I got my makeup done, put on my wig which was fresh, and got dressed up. The photographer came and we took pictures and went to the shul. In a way it’s nice because you get to see People. I left the room when thr mohel did the bris

I heard the reason being that if the mother cries from her babies pain it will cause a kitrug in shomayim

Good question. But even before and official vacht nacht, I believe the father and mother of the baby stayed up all night or took turns watching the baby to make sure no harm comes to the baby. That is ancient I believe…

I can be wrong but insane of having a suda . As shmira staying up all night. Special tefillos. I think came before pekalach and neighbor's kids dropping by. The baal shem attended sudos. I don't remember any story's about kods stopping by and going homw with pekalach.
Btw men say shema too....
