For irritated skin, the tubby Todd ointment cream rly rly works and is pretty natural.

This is something I didnt try yet. Dr says to stay away from powders. Is it better than all the other ointments? Quite expensive

Moisturizing it is keeping it moist.

Check to see if it's fungal. And I recommend using boudreauxs butt paste.

I was going to say this. I put Triple paste AF (anti fungal) or Nystatin and to maintain between uses Aquaphor. (it is like Vaseline but a better formula and in a tube)

Have you tried the zinc or Vaseline as a preventive or treatment?

If the rash gets really bad, it will be too late for them to work. Use the cortisone to clear it up, then be very consistent with the Vaseline even if you don't see any rash at all to prevent it from coming back.

He might have steroid withdrawal syndrome if you've been using the hydrocortisone for too long.

I had a rash around my mouth that appeared suddenly. I was given steriod creams and was using them on and off like you are. It helps and goes away and then it starts again and I was using the cream for too long. My allergist then prescribed Tacrolimus which is a non steriod and while my rash is not tottaly better its been under control without the need for the steriod and I hope to continue to improve.

As others have said, once it cleared up you should have switched to zinc or any other barrier cream, to prevent more rash

It sounds more like his skin is going through withdrawal from steroids. I'd avoid all steroid based creams for now. It will get worse before it gets better. Keep up with the other ideas mentioned here but don't use steroids even for a day until she's fully healed. I had this with my dd, it's awful.

Many times your body can react to something after using it for years.
Op pls try switching to dye free sensitive detergent - it’s not just from rubbing on dirt and food it’s from rubbing skin on clothing that was laundered with strong chemicals. I’ve been there before

What kind of rash was it that you had to resort to tacrolimus?

Around pessach I started having unexplained allergic reactions my whole face got crazy and a little bit on my neck and hands. They put me on steriods, steriod creams, and I was even given steriod shots. Slowly everything went away except around my mouth. No new soaps foods perfumes medications or anything.
