I just listen without AirPods. Why do you need AirPods to listen? I place my phone just outside the shower on the vanity.

They make water proof but touch screen friendly holders you can put on the wall of your shower to put your phone in.

Safest solution is waterproof Bluetooth shower speaker, made them since forever.

My son has a waterproof speaker that he connects to his kindle so he can listen to audible in the shower, he leaves it right outside the shower. He got it on amazon.

Sure lots available on Amazon. Who would you be talking to in the shower though?! They’d probably be able to hear background noises.
