Non watery Gefilte fish. In oven

Any tried and true methods to cook a loaf of regular fish in the oven without it getting water logged.

Fill the pan only halfway with water and spices, it does not need to cover the loaf.

Remove the loaf from water right after cooked and wrap with paper towels and lightly press.

Allow to cool unwrapped and then wrap and refrigerate.

Unwrap the loaf and bake on a cookie sheet or in a loaf pan with no water. Yum!

We sometimes pour over marinara sauce or drizzle oil and put spices on top before baking.

I just place loaf into tin foil
fill with water 1/3 to the top only.
add spices on top according to your custom and carrots if using
We use tomato sauce, smoked paprika and sugar
Wrap foil tightly with some allowance for air/for loaf to grow
Then into an aluminum pan to catch any excess moisture

Put in pan with paper on and add water to about half the loaf. Add any spices or carrots.
Cover and bake for 2 hours.
Remove from water and u wrap immediately then let cool.

Unwrap gefilte fish and drizzle with honey. Season with paprika, pepper, salt, garlic, and basil. You can adjust the spices as desired.
Bake covered at 350 for an hour.
Uncover and bake for another 30 min.

Unwrap, Sprinkle with basil, oregano, and parsley. Bake at 350 till top gets a drop golden
(I usually do it in a loaf pan, needs spray so it doesn't stick since there's no water)
