They are just steamed in a container with a cover
Don’t need to be cooked .

I wouldn’t. I think it would dry out or not cook properly. I put the contents of the couscous box and spice sack into a bowl,add boiling water from my hot water heater following box directions with a drop of olive oil. I cover with paper towel (or dish towel) and foil and let steam for about 10 minutes. You can then add dressing, herbs and vegetables (like sliced grape tomatoes, red abc yellow peppers, cucumbers, canned chickpeas, dill, parsley, lemon juice, salt, pepper.) Or do sweet with nuts and craisins or yellow raisins or currants.
