It was one of my worst Yom Kippur fasts ever. Started getting headaches already around 10 a.m. in shul, only shortly after I got there, during the repetition of Mussaf I got so nauseous that I had to run out and leave. Went home, spent the rest of the day in bed. Luckily the children were able to entertain themselves. During the afternoon, I got one of the worst headaches I've ever had, pounding, I was at the brink of tears. I did get up to say the Shmone Essres for Mincha and Ne'ila at home. But then kept counting every minute until the end with that horrible headache. When it was over, the first things I put in my mouth were 2 headache pills and a cup of cold coffee, then some chocolate. B"H I recovered after that. I regret that I hardly was in shul, normally I make an effort to go, but this time I couldn't.

I had a bad headache for the second half of the day, which was unusual for me, since in general I’m a great faster.
And trying to find the cause:
This is the first Yom Kippur I spent this many hours in shul, the first year I started drinking more coffee- so maybe withdrawal?, I’m on tirzepitide- maybe it’s a cause? Also got my period…
So something is to blame, not sure what…,

Relentless pain from a pinched spinal nerve made the fast practically irrelevant. When pain fills your headspace, you don't notice hunger or thirst.
