Yes, I go and love it...but it's a clean, well prepared oot mikvah.

It's a tangible way to prepare for the holiest day of the year. I remember my grandma going when I was in seminary and how much effort she put in to go. My mom and sisters go too.

What do you find spiritual about cramming into a mikvah and dipping quickly so the next lady can go? Legit curious

I don't go, but would answer that we have a mesorah that dipping in a mikvah has spiritual benefits, as it cleanses and uplifts the neshama. On the days of the bais hamikdash when the laws of tumah and taharah were kept, we would all be dipping quite often.

Men "cram into a mikvah" and dip all year round for this benefit.

yes you are missing the point.
It is for added kedusha and tahara.
Much more like men going daily or weekly or before shabbos/YT.
It is completely unrelated to Niddah.
There is no chafifah. One can go during niddah. If during shiva nikiyiim, there are differing opinions.

What? You can go while bleeding?
Isn't that unsanitary?

I’ve gone since I got married and never once experienced this cramped chicken market people are describing.
Maybe because I live in a smaller community so this works, but everyone books a 15 min appt and you usually don’t even see the lady before you or after you. You just let yourself in go toivel and leave. Very civilized and feels like a good spiritual prep for yk, especially because with little kids I don’t always get to feel that holiness on the day.

My mother never went
I went once as a newlywed and was grossed out can never do it again. Waiting in line with everyone, leaving my clothes in a room with tons of stuff, and the mikvah was so dirty from all that used it

I love going erev YK! It really helps get me in the right spiritual frame of mind.

That being said, it's a very pleasant experience at my mikvah. I've never been rushed, everyone gets their own prep room (can't imagine otherwise!!!), everyone is davening and wishing each other a gmar chasima tova.
