I am astounded! I thought I was being pretty careful and now reviewing receipts and credit card charges definitely spent more than I expected to. It was eye opening! Hopefully like my husband always says I will get back double what I spend on Shabbos and Yom Tov. Anyone else surprised at how small purchases add up and then multiply?

Yep, same here. I used a lot of meat from the freezer, but it really all adds up.
The plus side is, when I think that I've probably cooked at least 20 multi course meals this month, the expenses seem much more reasonable!
I heard Hashem pays, but never heard that we get double. What is the source?
