How do we do it? I have nothing. Very behind on regular bills as it is. Couldn’t even buy a bottle of milk today because we are overdrawn (getting a return tomorrow so I’ll have a little bit to get milk tomorrow). But yom tov is coming. Even just the basics (plastic ware for all the days, basic fleishigs, food for 6 meals (nothing fancy just food). I can’t go shopping right now. How are we gonna do it?

Ugh. So stressful. I know it’s not a long term solution but can you go away for yomtov? Sibling? Parents?

I was in the same position as you a few days ago. Plus I am IYH due right around RH and really need to cook in advance, but we barely are managing to put supper on the table.

Then Hashem decided it was the right time, and unexpected money came in. DH is actually out shopping right now so I can hopefully cook some things in advance.

May your yeshua come quickly as well!

If you live in Lakewood, call tomchei shabbos. They will deliver lots of food for shabbos and Yom Tov. It looks the same as if you had a grocery order delivered to your door.
Do you have a credit card you can use?
I know it’s a lot of work but maybe you should use your dishes and silverware for now since plastic is expensive.
Make things with pasta, rice or orzo and add just a drop of chicken to the dish.
I can give you a piece of meat to cook if you live in Lakewood.

Not even for yomtov? Lakewood tomchei gives so generously incl. Potato, onions, carrots, apples for yomtov. Does your local organization not?
Either way reach out since they will help with that large portion of groceries.

Not in Lakewood. Yes I’m gonna have to wash dishes and silverware but it makes me have less simchas yom tov but oh well.

I need to eat a lot of protein because I have pre diabeties, so can’t do mostly carbs

Can you drive in for Sukkos at least? It’s like 10/12 meals.

Maybe, I’m not up to sukkos yet. But mother doesn’t have anywhere for us. Siblings would have to work hard to find a place for us. It’s not so simple.
And we can only stay for half because DH needs to be back for Simcha’s Torah
