I want to give a gift card to an OT who has been working with my child for about 6 months. Very positive. What's an appropriate amount? She's not Jewish I don't know if the norms are different.
Thanks!
wow! I gave my kids OT via cpse a scented candle worth about $7. honestly I think it’s more about the feeling of gratitude than how much you spend. OT are well paid professional and would appreciate any expression of gratitude regardless of amount spent
I pay her privately and she gives me a good deal, and also speaks on the phone to me without charging so I want to get her a gift. I don't usually get gifts for therapists that's why I'm asking.
We have an amazing therapist for one of my children that has really really gone above and beyond her job in order to help our whole family. She also doesn’t charge as often as she should for example if she calls me then she won’t charge even if I ask her too.
There are many other examples of times that she could and should have charged for her time but didn’t. She has really really helped our entire family not through therapy directly but for recommending therapy to others in the house, finding a very good therapist for others in the family etc. We really want to show our appreciation to her. She’s a private pay therapist but we still want to get her a nice gift to show our tremendous hakaras hatov to her. We were thinking of getting maybe $150 gift certificate to a nice restaurant that recently opened.
