GR - what's that garlic dressing?

We're having:

Felchen (the local answer to white fish. Not a very good answer, I must say.)
Beef broth with lukshen and kneidlach
Roast chicken
Butternut-squash kugel
Glazed chestnuts
Yerushalmi kugel (bought)
Purple cabbage salad - GR, how about this recipe for your cole slaw? It uses scallions and almonds.
Marinated mushrooms
Birthday cake

cholent, kishke, kugel

Felchen
eggs - either deviled or with onion
salads from Friday night
fresh fruit and birthday cake, if any's left

Sarahd, the garlic dressing is really good. I do it in my food processor. It stays a while in the fridge also.

3 garlic cloves
1 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup vinegar
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup water

That's the original recipe although I cut out some sugar and put more garlic. Extra garlic makes it a bit sharp, which we like.

What's your purple cabbage salad recipe? I was thinking of switching to purple cabbage anyway since it's easier to check and I'm short on time today.

Purple Cabbage Salad

½ head purple cabbage (or 1 bag)
3 scallions
½ c. roasted slivered almonds
3 tablespoons sesame seeds

Dressing:

½ c. sugar
1 tablespoon salt
2 tablespoons vinegar
¼ tsp. pepper
½ c. oil

You can cut down a bit on the sugar and salt, but not too much or else the salad has very little taste.

Tamiri's recipe isn't really boiled since the chicken doesn't touch the water. It is probably poached and is very moist and tender.

Thanks! I'm glad to see I have everything I need in the house.
I make a similar salad but a bit different- with soy sauce and fresh garlic in the dressing, and bits of red pepper and purple onion added.

With the holiday coming up, I'm trying to clear space before I shop and cook, so I'm only using things that I have in the house already. Probably pasta with homemade fake meat sauce, accompanied by a bunch of things I have in the freezer. Salad. Cheese and poppy strudel for dessert, because I have some in the freezer.

My husband just got back from a little trip, I have plans for tonight, so neither of us is up for doing too much shopping or prep, anyway.
