I could be wrong but it's how I interpreted it, to "stay" cancer-free as in maintaining her current cancer-free condition. Doesn't mean the recovery process is over, just healing from the rigorous treatment itself can take time. Also she'll probably be having regular scans and tests for the rest of her life to monitor for relapse/recurrence. |
There are probably radiation and other treatments still planned once chemo is complete.
