Summer vacation planning is in full swing. Lots of ppl are looking for places to go, many don't want to spend too much, or go toofar. I found this area (Poughkeepsie, Hyde Park....) that has lots to do-
Walkway over the hudson
Vanderbilt House
FDR historical homes
Kedem Tasting Room
Hyde Park Railway Station
Funmax
Mid hudson Children's museum
Dubois farm- picking
West point
I've never been here. The hotels look very nice and fairly priced. My issue is that there doesn't seem to be proper minyan nor is there kosher food in the 1 hour radius. I guess that's why it isn't a popular destination... Has anyone been here and can share information? Maybe we can popularize this area to everyone's benefit! (Monroe has minyan and food about an hour away)

ShopRite in Poughkeepsie had kosher deli and some kosher food items.

I was just there and did beautiful things and had a great time! Dubois farm was a hit!

Minnewaska State park is near there too and we enjoyed that.

This is the area that those of us in Monsey go to for day trips. Driving distance from Monsey and Monroe, though not the closest. I believe there is a Chabad in Newburgh. No idea if they get a minyan.
