I am trying to strengthen my core after a few pregnancies.
been checking out different people on youtube, but evern those that claim they are geared for postpartum moms are too much for me!

I can technically do the exercises but I dont have correct form and I feel that I am using other muscles to compensate instead of my core

Anyone have a reccomendation for real beginner stuff?

I know I should get a personal trainer, one day in my dream luxury life...

I like Lauren fitter- free on YouTube.. Nancy Anderson is excellent but you need to pay $50/month for her program.

Key to core exercises is form. You need to learn form and form again.

Real beginners ideas are-
Balance on one leg at a time
Lay on your back and suck your core in and hold it for 20 seconds.
Squats.
Crunches.
Lay on back and bicycle your legs.

There are so many… there is a correct way and a wrong way to do all of it though.

I started with her courses. Like 10 min ab workout. Started from No excersize. Very weak.
I started with her standing core/ab workouts and then progressed to her core program.

Your insurance will likely cover physical therapy. Ideally you’d seek women’s health/pelvic floor physio, but even a regular PT could help.

lying flat on your back and doing several things with legs is a great start:
1. lift your legs without bending at the knees. Go as high as you can, hold and slowly let down. Repeat 10 times
2. lift your legs without bending at the knees. spread them apart and cross first right over left then left over right 10 times
3. as mentioned, bicycle your legs
4. bending at the knee, push your legs forward and backward as if pushing off from a swimming pool wall while lying on your back
It will be difficult to do it in the beginning and you may only be able to do one at a time. But build up slowly

Make sure you don't have diastasis recti or you're doing more damage than good with core exercises. Restore your core is good

Certified personal trainer here:

Before doing core work postpartum, check if you have diastasis recti. There are YouTube videos that can show you how you can check. DR is when the abdominal muscles that naturally spread in late pregnancy Dont come back together pp and you are left with a gap in the middle of the belly that can have collagen unprotected and weaken your whole core. Many core exercises are not recommended until DR is addresses.
With or without DR, core engagement exercises are perfect for postpartum.
You can look up healing Diastais or core engagement exercises on YouTube and no matter what, they are beneficial to strengthen the integrity of your core.

It’s amazing
She has a bunch of 10 min videos to help restore core strength after pregnancy and delivery


In general, her workout videos are great. I love tht she’s a mom of 3 - went thru pregnancy and labor etc

This is not true beginner.

Op, try mom's into fitness/Lindsay Brin.

I don't know if she's free on YouTube but she does have a free trial and then she has an app and a website and she is worth every penny.

She has a postpartum core schedule for 8 weeks that really starts at 0.

If you still want to continue with her core she has more advanced core exercises after for people who have done exercise for a while.

I'm so depressed. I dont feel anything in my core

Every exercise I try, I feel myself using my legs, glutes, neck etc cant feel anythin g in my core

is there something wrong with me
