Some encouragement we applied on 2021 two years later we were notified we won YAD HASHEM totally and bh have a section 8 approved rental. If Hashem wills it it will be!! Hatzlacha to All

I did hear about it but BH does not apply to me. Is this to actually live in a NYCHA apartment, or just that they would pay for your current rental?

Curious how you applied in 2021 and got on? It sounds like this is the first time they are opening in 15 years.

As some one who has ties to NYCHA I will say this, Any one on the list up until now either was thrown off the list due to not being qualified, Change in income, or got placed. That whole list of 200 thousand people is no longer. They now opened up a new list. It can take years to get called. The process is rigorous. No funny business can be played. All of the systems are now connected. There is also a lottery component. Remember it is for all five boroughs so you never know. The voucher can be used for an approved apartment. Depending on what neighborhood you are in you may have an easier time to find an apt that fills the qualifications. In my neighborhood most landlords can not be bothered as everything has to be done right or they are not interested in filling out papers. Others will do since it guaranteed income.

What list is no longer? The email I just got today is no longer valid?
When did they open up a new list?

I think it’s a typo for now longer. Meaning there’s no one left from the old list
