Random question about Israeli accent

I listen to Israeli music a lot and it’s so annoying when certain singers pronounce the “ch” as “h”.

I’m talking about Israeli singers. Eyal Golan and Peer Tasi do this all the time… why?

Oy this is so misinformed. They absolutely do pronounce the ches sound, it just doesn't sound like the Ashkenazi ches. It's not a "h" sound at all. Anyone who is an expert in nusachim will tell you that it's closer to the original than the Ashkenazi version. The ches and chaf are not supposed to sound indistinguishable. Rabbanim and knowledgeable people from those countries are makpid to pronounce the ches that way in tefila and krias hatorah.

Yes exactly. Ashkenazim generally use an identical sound for ches and chaf. Sefardim generally have different sounds for ches and chaf- the chaf sounds like the Ashkenazi chaf, while the ches comes from deeper in the throat. Neither of those is the same as the sound for a hey. You should not be hearing am yisrael hai, he is most definitely not using a hey sound.

Not so much ignorant, which anyone has a right to be, but it sounded less like a request for clarification and more like a criticism. You did, after all, say that it's annoying, which implies, whether you meant to or not, that it's "wrong" and you're right. Unnerstan'?

Maybe you just need to be a little bit more careful with your choice of words, since tone of voice does not come across on the internet.
