Place to stay for shabbos near jfk

Hi,

We'll Iyh be visiting the states soon and have a flight leaving from JFK on Motzei shabbos at 1 AM so we're looking for a place to stay near (within an hour drive from) the airport.
Are there any (non expensive) kosher hotels or a hotel near a frum area where we can get kosher food and minyans?

There is a hotel in Long Beach, (Allegra) and several choices for a minyan. You can buy food in the Five Towns, and Chabad may have meals there.

Easiest is to search near a Chabad of Five Towns or Chabad of Queens etc. or check on GoDaven.com for Shuls with minyanim Shabbos etc.

No there aren't really. It's hard to find an airbnb in those areas also. Most people stay by someone they know, or ask chabad.
BTW there is less traffic late at night here, if you needed to stay in Brooklyn you could probably still make it.

I don't know your budget or how many people you are, but there's something like this in Cedarhurst, a 7 minute drive or so from JFK and the middle of a frum area:

I don't know about accommodations there but Teaneck, NJ is closer than Monsey.

No don’t risk it
They sometimes do construction on highway motzei shababs and there is tons of traffic.
Only go to queens or five towns

Thanks for the replies! Sound like Queens is our best bet (though I'd really like to spend shabbos in Monsey but not worth taking the chance with traffic)

You can stay in Brooklyn as well. It's a 30-40 minute drive to JFK.
You can stay at the plaza hotel, or the other one on 48 street.
Plenty of Shuls and Food.
Shabbos ends 9:10-9:30.
Plenty of time.

We stayed in far Rockaway by someone we knew and it was less than 10 min.

Without traffic it’s an hour. Maybe under an hour if you’re fast. Often there is traffic. Even at night.

Do you have any relatives or friends (or friends of friends) who would host you who live in Far Rockaway or 5 Towns? They are ridiculously close to JFK.

Nope
We only know people in Monsey 😏
I was really hoping we would be able be there for shabbos and that way not have to spend on a hotel/Airbnb but seems like it's cutting it too close.

I was on the RFK bridge for over an hour yesterday night because they fixed a sign. You never know.
