Safest place in America for Jewish people now? Please don’t say we’re not safe anywhere, all in Hashems hands, etc. I know all that.

Nowhere

Almost every place where there’s a big Jewish community there have been anti semitic incidents

Maybe out in Wyoming in farmland

A state that allows open carry is safer. I carry a small gun in my purse, my husband in a holster on his waist.

I personally feel very safe in the Five Towns area. Long Island is heavily Jewish and we haven't had any major antisemitic incidents. There are so many Israeli flags hanging everywhere, including ones put up by the township in the Cedarhurst/Lawrence area up and down Central Avenue (our main commercial street). All the stores put up hostages posters too.

OP safer from whom? A crazy man with a gun? Missionaries? A gang that sells drugs? Pick your home. Get a Rabbi in your lives. Go to Shul and be part of the Community. Help others. Call your family and be in touch with them. Go out and make 1 person a day smile with a big Good morning. All Yidden have Avinu She'bashamayim watching over us.

What are the gun laws in NY and NJ? I never thought of checking. Also how does the training work? Do you get to practice before carrying. Excuse my ignorance.

Yes, of course you must show that you are properly trained in handgun safety and use before you are granted a permit to carry.

I think suburbia is safer then the cities - and smaller jewish communities are probably safer the larger jewish communities.

Rural area's tend to skew ant- Semitic as well and are full of guns - its probably just like living in a city....

For the record I did not need to show any training in order to get a permit to carry. My husband taught me how to shoot

Safer from nuclear war, ch"v?

Rural area, not in a major state.

Don't know about shuls and schools.

Jews tend to live in major cities.

That is so messed up. In a dangerous situation, a person who isn’t properly trained can be more dangerous with a gun than without. You can hit an innocent passerby instead of a terrorist if you don’t know how to aim well.

What state do you live in? I live in NJ and there’s a shooting test you have to pass to get a carry permit.
