Hi
I feel very naive , can anyone explain what Happens tomorrow and who we are meant to vote for.
I see peoples status urging people to vote but who for, and which party is best for us as yidden here?
What do the Rabbonim say is best?
How does a polling station work even?
I never responded to any letters I got about it or filled them out.
What do you need besides ID?
Can anyone help me out?
Thank you so much!
Im in Manchester.

Well, first things first is that you needed to be registered to vote. I think the deadline for this was the 21st April. If you got a polling card, you are registered. Make sure to bring ID with to the polling station that is on your polling card (that is where you can vote).
As far as I know, conservative is the way to go but I'm in gg not Manchester.

You should have gotten a polling card through the post. It looks a bit like a postcard and would have had your name on it.
If you don't have that, it is possible you aren't registered to vote and there's nothing you can do to change that.
I think in prestwich the polling booth is in the sedgley hub on bishops road. Salford has more than one depending on where you live.
If you are registered to vote all you need to do is walk up to the polling station, show your ID. Then you go into a booth and tick who you want to vote for and place it into the ballot box.
Realistically your vote isn't actually that useful as the same people get voted in.

The main options are
Christian Wakeford - Labour but he has been a great MP for a number of years
Arnold Saunders - Jewish, standing for the first time, Conservative.
Some people say better to vote for a yid, some say better to vote for someone who's done a fine job til now.
Some people say we don't want a labour government cos labour are "antisemitic"
Some people say we don't want a Conservative government cos of the "mess" they've made of the country over the years they've been in power.
I happen to know who my LOR voted for and I did the same as him, but I know in general he doesn't advise people who to vote for so I'm not going to publicise it here!

Thanks so much!
I signed up to be on the electoral register for next time. Oh well.
Thanks for the info.
I teach in a school and one of the classes learned about it today, so I got a little bit more educated.

And his majority was such that one vote wouldn't have made any difference, so OP, don't feel upset that you didn't vote.
