I'm setting up a new Gsuite account, I purchased a domain, but its different than my gsuite domain because that one was not available. Now its not connecting.
Is anyone familiar with this and can help me?
Thanks!

You can’t connect to a domain you don’t own. Unless you get permission from the owner.
Your account name can be whatever you want. Like if you purchased hello.com your account name could be Hello or Goodbye. But your email address would need to be somethingorother@hello.com.

I understand that. I own a domain.
I'm referring to the somethingorother@hello.com.
Does that have to match the domain name I purchased separately on squarespace?

Because I made my google account lets say something@hello.com, but on squarespace only he-llo.com was available so thats what I bought.

You own both hello.com and he-llo.com?
Or only he-llo.com?

So you can't use a domain name you don't own in Google suites. You won't be able to edit the mx records of the DNS registry for that domain (hello.com)
You can only use your own domain name.

Ok makes sense!
do you know if I can switch my google suite account over to "he-llo.com", or do I need to create a new one?

I’m so confused. How could you make a google account with a domain that you don’t own? Unless you’re saying that you take couldn’t?

"hello.com" is my google account, I bought it. When I want to set up the email it told me to verify my domain. So I bought the domain he-llo.com on squarespace and now it cant verify......... | If you purchased hello.com on google, why did you need to purchase he-llo.com too?

I just reread everything but it still doesn’t make sense. What did you pay for for Google?

Did you own hello.com before or you started a Google workspace account trying to use hello.com that you can't verify because you never bought the domain name?

By opening a gsuite it means I purchased that domain?
So what do I do about this? (see pic attached)
| Ok, so purchasing Gsuite doesn’t mean you purchased a domain. It just means you have access to a bunch of tools, and are able to connect a custom domain. For domain you pay separately.
so now you just have to connect the he-llo domain to gsuite

What synthy said
Just use the he-llo.com domain instead and you'll be fine. You're not losing anything as you obviously couldn't have started using the workspace yet.

To put it simply, someone else owns hello.com and they want to receive emails on their domain name, so the system cannot allow you to also use it when it's not your domain.

And its ok if the names don't match - the gsuite account, and the domain I purchased?
Thank you so so much btw, you don't know how much of a help this is!

Did you pay google anything? It’s been a while since I set up gsuites but I remember doing it through squarespace. Squarespace will set up everything for you if you do it that way.
