If you just gave two weeks notice yesterday you might be able to go back and say never mind. It’s the employer’s choice if they want you back but chances are they might, especially because it’s impossible to find employees these days and someone new they’ll have to retrain. People have their reasons they would come back such as their new job falling through.

Except they’re going to need to train someone anyway if she’s going on leave and they’re going to (probably correctly) assume she’s not coming back after. She can try getting her job back, but it’s on the mercy of her employer

Unless you’re rich enough that you don’t need paid leave and are totally fine without it, you definitely made a mistake. There are laws protecting pregnant women’s jobs because of how important it is that we have a source of income when we’re bringing a new (expensive) child into the world and will not be able to work for some time while recovering physically and emotionally. To give your job up willingly, why?

You need to think before making rash decisions like these. This is your livelihood we’re talking about. Your family’s wellbeing depends on it.

How is this helpful? We’ve all made silly decisions before, such is life.
Op I also quit my job when I was pregnant, I didn’t end up getting anything and we had to use our savings. A toxic work environment plus pregnancy hormones were not a good combination. It was an exercise in emunah and bitachon and BH made it to the other side.

It doesn’t hurt to try. Many of these Lakewood offices have everything set up for when people take maternity leave to be covered but to hire a new staff member is a whole different ball game. I’m not saying they’ll take you back but it doesn’t hurt to try.
