I personally know 2 geirim (unrelated) that converted and joined the satmar community but it is highly unusual

My husband and I are pretty much on the same page, my in laws and I not really. I am from Brooklyn they're from Monroe and I think that's where the differences start.

We start shabbos the same time, my husband will do malachos until 30 minutes after I light. Motzai Shabbos is 72 minutes rabbeinu tam

To expound on this, my husband and I will ask our rav/dayan any questions we might have about minhagim or other community customs, like when to start wearing tights and long sleeves, or my son wanted tshirt tzitzis and our minhag is not to wear the tzitzis directly on the skin, etc. My in-laws will rather do what 'everyone' does. So white tights on shabbos/simchas for little girls when they're in KJ but black tights when they're in BP or Monsey. When my 3 yr old DD wore socks they had a hard time with it but 2 years later were OK with it because 'people' were doing it.

My father does 18 minutes but DH's family does 30

So interesting. So shabbos is 8:18 you light 8:00 so your DH will do melacha untill 8:48?
