If you could have multiple children but only one gender, which would you prefer.

And why?

Asking out of curiosity what people would prefer.

I like having both. I'm sure I'd feel a void with only one.

That being said, my girls are way easier.

Boys because they have a much easier time in shidduchim (yeshivish)
We have a few strikes against us and I'm terrified for my girls.

Boys

I grew up in a boy family and I feel like they are easier to raise

Girls for the one reason that they usually stick around more after marriage and when raising their own kids
Obviously there are always exceptions

Boys!!!
I have mostly boys, and 3 girls under them - they are so moody, kvetchy…

Boys are so much fun a we have a great time together.
Iyh I’ll say that about my girls too Smile

I have both, I'm fine either way. In my totally biased opinion, my kids are all awesome LOL

Bris's make me nervous, but that's over with really quick and pretty minor. Otherwise, I can't think of anything to push me one direction or the other. Level of difficulty isn't any different in my experience so far.

I love my boys but would prefer girls. Easier and less stressful. And they have a lighter schedule so can do more fun things with them.

I have only girls and I love it. It’s familiar territory and I watch my friends struggle with how to deal with their teen boys. I also have a clean house and calm play and when we have boys over I’m just anxious the whole time from the wild, mess and chaos.

I have both genders and they're all under the age of 5 so I don't know enough to really have a preference one way or another. But if I had to pick now I'd say girls, for several reasons:
-That old adage that "Your son is your son til he gets himself a wife, your daughter's your daughter for the rest of her life."
-As much as I plan to raise my kids to take equal responsibility for our household, and help where possible with any chores, I feel like girls are typically just more geshikt, and will also have a schedule more conducive to helping with everything, and my lazy self is already looking forward to having competent helpers instead of just messmakers Smile (Dooooon't worry, I won't parentify them, I just mean- someone to help me bake and cook and set the table and and keep an eye on the other kids for an hour so I can nap on shabbos here and there, nothing more than I grew up with myself).
-I feel like as a woman I'll probably have more to bond with them over similar experiences? Tho I know people come in all types of personalities and could be my son will end up more my type one day, who knows Smile I'm just making a guess here.

Having only girls is no guarantee of a clean house and calm play. You lucked out with calm, neat girls. I have only girls and they play as rough as any boys I've met. They are loud, tend to be overly hyper, leave a trail of messes behind them, and don't seem to care about keeping their belongings neat (and no, they are not all little I already have a few who are teens).

With that being said if I had to choose I'd choose only girls. But that's mostly just because I don't have any boys so all I know is raising girls. Maybe if I had sons to compare to I'd feel differently.

So interesting to see that the poll results don’t lean in one direction.

I have one of each and expecting my third. Obviously I can’t control the gender but I find myself constantly thinking about which gender id prefer, and I cannot make up my mind. It’s too early to find out now anyway… and I guess it’s better not to have a preference.

This topic is just something I always think about. I used to say I’d prefer a girl family over a boy family but I’m not sure… my daughter requires way more of my energy and patience than my son.

But when I think of boy families I think of constant mess and dirt.

I don’t think I lucked out I set the tone of the house. It’s easy for girls to be ok with it harder to get boys to not climb walls and throw things.

Boys boys boys.
I don't relate to girls that well, I guess I'm just more masculine. My brothers are my favorite siblings, I enjoyed hanging out with them and shmoozing with them. There's very little drama in their lives , not that much gossip, and while they were hard teens they did a lot better then my sisters and I.
I myself have one child, a boy, and I dream of giving him loads of brothers some day.

I have all girls. They have brought home some really nice boys. There definitely is a void having only one gender, so I'd say pray for both, and then accept whatever silver lining comes with what you get.

I have a large family of girls and a single boy. I picked all girls, because I would still know how to parent if I had all girls. I would have no idea what I was doing if I had all boys. PS- I adore my son. But he is who he is partially because he has all sisters.

I voted girls because most kids tend to be closer to their mothers side of the family and I'd be devastated to not be as close with future grandkids.

I currently have 3 boys and feel a serious void but I know I'd feel the same void if I had only girls at this point
