When DD (almost 2) woke this morning, I literally could not see straight. I told her to go play in the living room and I went to lie down in bed (on the other side of the living room - very very small apartment), usually after amin she comes to suggle in bed. After 2 mins it was too quiet. I found her in the kitchen, peeling a clemetine over the garbage. She said (beautifully for a 2 yr old) "I got myself an orange and peeled"!

(and yes, I realize she now obviously needs more in the same room attention)

I was explaining to my grandson how, when his Mommy was a little girl, I was her Mommy and used to take care of her, just like she takes care of him toda. With a mischievious glint in his eyes, he smiled at me and replied, "Yes, Bubby, and I'm YOUR Tattie!"

jba, that's wonderful! My kids get themselves breakfast while I sleep in in the morning. (They're 4 and 2)
In the summer I slept for an extra hour or 2 (light sleep, and they came to me if they needed anything) while the older one served breakfast for the both of them and then they went on to play.
