What kind of shreded cheese do you use?

I buy a block of גבינה צהובה and grate it. (I think it's made by גבינת ירושלים)

Mmmm. Yummy! I made this yesterday. One recipe, with the potato flakes, with two adults and two small kids, we finished the whole thing, and dh would have had more.

I served it tossed with a little bitter and sprinkled with shredded parmesan and sliced basil from our garden. Delicious. DH requests I add it to my successful dinners menu list. Very Happy YAY! Thanks!

I also made this yesterday. I made some from butternut squash as well, and it was good. it used a lot more flour than the potato ones though. I served with homemade tomato sauce and parmesan.

You can also serve these with meat sauce - has anyone tried that?

Give it a shot, Green...
As Julia Child used to say..."What's the worst that can happen? It's only food."

That would be butter. Served with butter, not bitter. Ooops... embarrassed

Go for it Greenfire! It was pretty easy, and everyone here loved it!

This is funny, we just discussed gnocchi in the chat. I found some ready to cook in the supermarket on the shelf. They were near the canned foods and were vacuum packed. Form the far it looks like cloves of peeled garlic. It’s garelick hechsher. Just pop em into boiling water, mmmmmmmmmmmm

I made the potato flakes recipe today for dinner. I made up my own sauce of sauteed onion and portabella mushroom (but you can leave the mushrooms out if you like) and I added Tomato sauce, crushed fresh garlic and some heavy cream at the end (but you can leave out the heavy cream as well), Salt and pepper to taste and it was YUM. DH loved it and had two biiiiig plates full!

I also do that, marinara with portabella mushrooms. Heavenly. Only I do it with ready-to-boil gnocchi form the supermarket.

Where do you even buy potato flakes.
