I have heard most if not all of the unusual names here. Some didn’t sound unusual to me. I know Perachya and Pesachya, Paltiels, Chamutals, Lifsha’s and Krassi’s. I even know a Dusi, pretty sure her name is Dusa. But Cheftzivah? No offense if there’s a Cheftzivah here. I’ve heard Cheftzibah a few times, often called Cheftzi, but with veis it sounds like a mispronunciation.

Ha I know. It's a girl who was in my daughter's bunk in camp. I asked her a hundred times are you sure its Cheftziva???? Not cheftzibah???? But no...like it almost sounds like Chava Tziva but it's Cheftziva... 🤷‍♀️ her sister has a unique name too now that I'm remembering, but I don't remember what 😆 I have to ask my daughter in the morning iyh.

The Dusa I know is just called Dusa.

Also I wrote Milka and Rana as 2 different names but I should have put then together because the person I know is Milka Rana 😅 I also know a plain Rana.

Not unheard of but Osnat.

My daughter has a friend Nilli. Her name is an acronym for Netzach Yisroel Lo Yeshaker.

My sweet granddaughter is Nili. It's more common in Israel with Dati Leumi community.
Sisters friend is Tema. We called her Temmy.
Also have a aquaintance Nitzana.
Lifsha I had 2 aquaintances. (Is it Yiddish?)
Again in Israel you will have Itamar (son's friend)
Matan I know a couple.
Chananel is very common.
Yiska is more common in Israel.

Children of olim should have the right to change their own names at bar/bat mitzvah age without any repercussions.

Choni has a vav and ends in a yud. Come to think of it, other than the story of Choni hameagel I never heard anyone with that name. The person I know is chet nun aleph. He goes by his other name and avoids telling people this one.
