All in the Feinstein family |
Rav Moshe's rebbetzin was Shima so there are descendants named after her.
Pretty sure chayene is a nickname for Chaya.
Charna isn't super common but it's a Yiddish name and I've heard it unrelated to the Feinsteins.

Im really surprised my name wasn't mentioned here. Don't want to put myself but I get comments about the uniqueness all the time (from people not in my circles)

I also knew a Krashi (Krasha) many years ago.
I wonder if this Salmon Traut was really Solomon and you misheard? |
That reminds of a girl named Sara Dina. I couldn't get Sar-dine out of my head.

I know someone named Techiya
Side note- but why does no one name after the Neviah, Chuldah? All the other Nevios' names are so commonly used besides for hers! Was always curious about this...

I know a few chuldas, all related. The translation is ‘weasel’. Maybe that’s why?

I’ve never heard of a Shemesh Yinon.
Hebrew speakers like to name kids after things found in nature, Almog (coral), Gal (wave), Erez (cedar), Yaara (forest), Kochava (star) so I guess Shemesh can fall into that category. |
Ya'ara does not mean forest, it means honeysuckle. It's my DD's name
Some of the names listed here are not uncommon at all.
Noga is very popular here in Israel.
Gal is SUPER popular.
