Its not about where its made it about how it’s made. Is it 100% cotton? What’s the thread count? What type of weave?

its 100% cotton. its 300 thread count.
what do you mean by type of weave?
I had a bedding I ordered online that was 300 thread count. it arrived and was soooo stiff and "schmatte" feel I was positive it was 80 thread count.
company does not sell least than 200 thread count and claimed it was the dye in the print that made it feel that way.
how do I know?

“Egyptian” cotton is type of cotton not that it's grown in Egypt

Not really sure, I was looking to buy some linen a few years ago and that came up on some of the sites that Egyptian cotton is not necessarily grown in Egypt, it's a type of cotton.

Egyptian cotton has long fibers so it produces softer bedding. The thread count is really meaningless because you can have high thread count made with poor grade cotton and it will feel scratchy.
If you are looking for super high grade linen, check out Matouk

There’s no way to know. Thread count can be very misleading. Every company counts their thread counts differently and many take short cuts. Like you said 300 can feel like 80 and 400 like 800…

There are plenty of other good options at better pricing. Matouk is designer but there is mid-range.

I don't knowingly buy merch from Pakistan because it's a Moslem country. Also IME textiles from India and Pakistan are not colorfast and fade rapidly. Just saying.

Percale is a type of weave making a rougher fabric. It’s not super comfortable. I like 100% sateen cotton 300-500 thread count. But this is my personal preference. And like I said earlier, we can’t know how honest these manufactures are.

I was just reading about cotton percale and cotton sateen.
I am just a little confused here.
many seem to describe cotton sateen as a type of weave which makes it softer.
however some describe it as being mercerised cotton which makes it a sateen look and is coarser.
how do I know which cotton sateen is being described?
(I think my coarse 300 bedding was either made out of cheap shorter cotton yarns or mercerised...)
