breslov: thanks for mentioning the mock chopped liver. I want to make some for this Shabbos. I think I like mock chopped liver better than the real thing!

Bclal I love reading about different Shabbos traditions through everyone's menus. Although many people's might be different but it's all good.

I love the sound of your sesame noodles and your PB choc pie...
Could you post the recipes?

Wow, finally a week where I'm proud to post something!!!

Friday night-
Homemade challah- I made it yesterday when I was sick and should've been in bed- it came out the fluffiest yummiest challah I ever had in my life!!
Salmon with lemon and dill
Lentil soup
Stuffed artichoke hearts
Rice
Cabbage salad- I have yet to decide which kind...
Corn salad
Sweet potato kugel
and a bought desert.

Shabbos day- same, aside for instead of the lentil soup and stuffed artichoke hearts, theres cholent and egg salad- maybe, instead.

It's always just me and dh - we don't go out yet (out of shana rishona, but not in mentality...)

So the whole Shabbos we have:

Challah (almost always homemade - I make huge batches and freeze, but I ran out and didn't make more this week Sad )
Gefilte fish
Chicken soup from freezer
Million Dollar chicken (from this site!)
Chulent
Vege Kabobs (from this site!)
Potato Kugel (I haven't succeeded in this yet, but I haven't tried for a while...time for another spin, and I'm optimistic now!)
Maybe a salad
Egg salad for Shaloshudos, or plain hard-boiled eggs
Vege platter (made right before Shaloshudos) with "dips" (salad dressings)

Excited to use imamother recipes - just found them this week when I was waiting for work to come in...and figured it was a good use of my time!

Bonzie, would you mind posting your recipe for hot chocolate chip amaretto pie? That (& everything else on your menu for that matter Smile ) sounds really good! Also, I love your idea of serving quacamole with ground meat & tacos!

minute steak
butternut squash souffle
zucchini kugel (anon's recipe, thank you!)
sweet noodle kugel (ww noodles!)
string beans with slivered almonds

lemon bundt cake (momof3's recipe, thanks!!)
streusel filled baked apples

(We are having my little brother over who is a vegetarian, so I'm making more side dishes than I usually do.)

lol thanx, this is the basic recipe, as I don't have it on me:
2 eggs
1 c crushed walnuts
3 tbsp choco liquor
1 c brown sug
3 tbsp white sug
1/4 cornstarch
1/2 marg
1 c choco chips

cream marg and sugars, and e/t else, add 1 cup choco chips, and make 350 for no more than 40 min serve warm

and the meat appetizer is cuz my guest doesn't like gefilte fish, we'll see how this goes over!
