I'll be using yolks for dessert beH and will have whites left over. Usually I'd just make some egg white omelets but I'd like to use these for a dessert too. TIA!

I whip them up with sugar put on top of a brownie and then stick under the broiler
Watch you just want the top slightly burned like when you roast marshmallows. That’s what it tastes like

Meringues:
Preheat oven to 425
Beat (not whip) 3 egg whites, 1 cup sugar, 1 tsp vanilla.
Keep beating until consistency is like marshmallow fluff. You know they are ready when you lift the beater and the mixture stays in place. Doesnt drip back into bowl.
Drop by spoonful onto cookie sheet. Close together is fine. They don't spread.
Put in oven. Immediately turn oven off. When oven is cool, meringues are ready.
I usually do them right before bed, and take them out in the morning.

Shanie5,
Do you think your recipe would work in a toaster oven? Or does it need the standard oven's heavy insulation to continue the cooking time/slow cooling time?

425 overnight?
And most important: can you freeze them?

No! Preheat to 425. As soon as the meringues are in the oven, TURN OFF THE OVEN.
I don't think they freeze, but will stay fine for a long time in a container. (I make them every year for a friend for pesach. At least 2 weeks before pesach. She stores them in a rubbermaid container and eats them throughout pesach)

Oops. You can see I'm one of those people who don't always remember to read a recipe through.
Can you flavor them?

I was surprised that you even said anything to begin with on this thread ;-D
I won't be eating them unless it's whole grain (if applicable) and not honey (I gotta pick my poisons, working for me so far, bH).

Yes. A bit of cocoa for chocolate. Or mini chocolate chips. Or both. Or Other extracts besides vanilla.

Thanks, I forgot about that. It's nice. But I was planning on making strawberry ice cream so don't know how well that'll go over.
And Shanie5, thanks.

I don’t have my exact recipe in front of me, but this one looks very similar. In effect, you fold together whipped cream, the beaten egg whites and some chocolate melted with butter.
