Anyone know how to remove the rust? They're never used. I just bought and Toiveled them TODAY at Peppermill. They said to dry them immediately, but they rusted immediately before I got a chance.

Try an oil and salt paste.Scrub them with it and then don't wash just wipe them well. It will take some elbow grease.

Sounds like its made of a real cheap metal, if it rusts so fast. Whats gonna be each time you wash it? are you always going to have to make sure to wipe it on the spot?
And you prob. paid a pretty penny for it too. I would return it.

This can easily become a loshon hora conversation. Why don't you just go down there or call them and find out?

Were they the set manufactured by Kosher Cook?

I have that brand, I air dry, and they don't rust. You should return.
No, the ones I have are Aleph Bet Cookie Cutters manufactured for K &D Specialties.
Mine look identical to yours, I'm thinking they must be manufactured and boxed specifically for Peppermill.

Yours never rusted even slightly?

any product should have a back-up ... unless you bought it at a dollar store ... just bring it back and ask for your money ... make it simple ...

First of all, ask you own LOR, but I'm 99.99% sure that cookie cutters (even metal ones) don't need tevila at all. Also, if they're alef-bais wouldn't you think they're made by a frum company which would also negate the need for tevila?

But now that the deed was done, I would agree with the amother that says you're gonna have the problem everytime you wash them. So either complain to peppermill or the manufacturer.

Peppermill doesn't take returns. They say they have a sign near Mikvah, saying to dry everything not stainless immediately, bec. of rust.

They now say to rub with steel wool.

nononononononono!!!!!! Never put shellac, nailpolish, or anything except edible oil such as salad oil or pharmaceutical grade mineral oil on any item that is going to come into direct contact with food.
