@greenfire It's just a term used when taking a baby bird out of the nest indefinitely.
@studying_torah Their breed name really does suit their personalities -"lovebird"

Here's a picture of the little guy now. The parents already have 5 eggs in the nest box. Anyone want to adopt a baby lovebird?!

More babies! I just pulled two baby lovies out of the nestbox yesterday. The parents are great up until the two week point and then get lazy about taking care of their young. (The older baby was adopted by a loving family.)

@FranticFrummie, are you absolutely certain you wouldn't be able to make room for one more sweet little lovebird baby

Adorable lovebirds.
Would you consider naming then Vandalay and Dr. Von Nostrand?

@ocee- I have to rehome them, otherwise I'd be stuck with dozens of baby lovebirds. I live out in the Midwest
@Rubber Ducky- The younger they are, the more time and energy I need to provide for them. Luckily, they're 4 weeks old now, so their feedings have dropped from 6 to 4 a day. In about 2 weeks (give or take a few days, depending on their maturity level) they should be weaned, eating regular seeds and pellets, so no more handfeeding sessions!
@rae gi- Right now, they're starting to look more like the Assman
