Well, I thought I'll have it easy here in EY on my holiday. BUT my SIL had to go for a medical procedure (fortunately nothing serious) on Thurs pm so I'm the lucky one volunteering to cook for extended clan of more than 15 people.
- challah
- hummous
- carrot salad
- israeli salad
- roasted pepper salad
- meatbals
- baked chicken
- rice
- roasted potato
- braised fennels
- crustless zucchini quiche for vegetarians
- fruits
- store-bought pastries
- jell-o with cut up fruits for kids, schnapps jello shots for adults
We're doing exactly the same for Saturday, except for cholent, jachnoon and brown eggs.

Here is the recipe for the Mushroom_Tomato Gefilte fish (my guest is bringing the pastrami roast, so I will post the recipe after shabbos (if she shares ) but if I'm not mistaken you just boil it for a couple of hours)
sautee onions, sliced mushrooms and diced tomatoes (add the tomatoes towards the end) in a little olive oil
when soft, add 1/4 c sugar
cook 10 min on low flame
remove paper from fish (should be slightly defrosted)
put in loaf pan, pour sauce over
bake covered at 350 for 11/4 to 11/2 hours

Its just DH and I this week - DS1 and DS2 will probably be sleeping.
Challah (homemade maybe)
Chummus, olives, carrot salad, avacados
skipping straight to the main course- boneless chicken thighs stuffed with rice and vegetables. not sure what side dish..
dessert is just whatever we have around, we have some taffies, fruits, whatever.
I might make shnitzel too, for the day meal. I want to get pastrami as well. I'll serve this with vegetable rice. Simple

Actually, I might stuff the chicken with pastrami and serve the rice as a side dish.. easier.

Shabbos meal this week is freezer stuff except for a fresh salad and freshly made rice. Otherwise it's freezer soup, freezer chicken, freezer kugel, and freezer angel's food cake with strawberries on it for the kids. No extra sides. Pesach beckons. That means until then, freezer empties.

Regarding freezer food. Please advise. Do you defrost first, or heat while frozen?
Do frozen chicken/kugel defrost well?
TIA Bracha

TIA Bracha | I find that meat and non watery kugels freeze well. Personally I don't like the taste of cooked chicken that was frozen.
For meat, defrost first.
For kugels, heat while frozen.
