I love your menu!!
Few questions - do you find when you serve lots of salads and dips for the starters, that the main does not get eaten?
Also, can you share the recipe for French Onion chicken?
Also what kind of wraps do you serve and how do you make them?
Thanks

Loveshoes-

For sure less main gets eaten. . .but I find that everyone really enjoys the salad course. The leftovers get eaten so I don't mind. Sometimes I go overboard on the mains and actually get a little embarrassed when I bring everything out!! (My regulars laugh at me!)

The French Onion chicken is basically horseradish sauce (chrainaise) and honey mustard mixed together and spread on the chicken. Then you sprinkle French's Fried onions on top. . .it's really good!

I make unimaginative wraps- just cold cuts, shredded lettuce, cold cuts, mayo and ketchup!

Do you use chicken pieces or cutlets for the French Onion Chicken? And how much of each (horseradish sauce and mustard) do you use? It sounds yummy! I might make it this shabbos (but maybe it is too spicy)

Loveshoes, I find it amusing that you asked MiamiMommy about "all her salads".
I typically will make anywhere from 5-10 salads, and last shabbos I made 14 different salads.
Yes, people eat less of the main course, but thats specifically my point. The way I cook is cheaper and more healthy than serving one or two veggies and lots of meats for the main course.

Italian Shnitzle

Dip chicken cutlets thoroughly into a good Italian Dressing, then breadcrumbs and fry. Very simple. Fry up some onion rings to sprinkle on top.

Sweet and Sour Sesame Chicken Nuggets

Dip small pieces of chicken cutlets into egg and flour. Fry. Set Aside.
In a pot, bring 3/4 cup ketchup, 3/4 cup brown sugar, a cup of water, garlic powder and onion powder and a sprinkle of sesame seeds to a boil. Pour over the nuggets and sprinkle more sesame seeds on top. Cover and bake for 25 minutes.

Taco Salad
Veggie Salad, Lettuce, peppers, cucumber, cherry tomatoes, etc.
Dressing: Salsa, Mayonnaise and garlic powder. I don't know the exact measurements. I would say more salsa then mayo.
Fry up some chop meat. I do it in water to save on fat. Sprinkle meat on top of salad, sprinkle in crunched up taco chips.

As for meat, we make a large order from Metaam Chafetz Chaim. It is never ever ever dry. I cook it nice and long and I think that makes the difference. I'm not sure of the numbers, I know we get mispar 5, and also a French Roast. The next time I make a large order I'll check the labels for you if you're still interested.

I don't think so. It's from "Chanie"'s blog- can't wait to try it!
