I've done worse than just missing appointments. I 'regularly' turn up for appointments at the wrong time. Like when I made DH rush home from Shul in the morning so I could attend an early appointment, only to discover when I got to the doctors' that it was a 2.30pm Why didn't I just look at the appt card?

When my oldest was little, I used to tell her monotonous stories to get her to fall asleep. Inevitably I would put myself to (half) sleep first - and start spouting crazy non-sequiturs until my daughter would say, "WHAT?" and wake me up.

___

I haven't seen my cell phone in weeks. When I find it, I will try to remember to post here about where it's been all this time...

___

And the most recent brainless thing I did was read this thread all the way through while trying to nurse my baby to sleep. Kinda hard for a baby to sleep while mommy is laughing. (And each time she's woken up, I get her settled again... and then keep reading...)

Got dressed friday night in a rush to light candles. We were eating out at a bar mitzvah. About five minutes after we got to the shul, I noticed my watch was missing. It has a clasp that opens occasionally [I really should get that fixed]. I asked dd to check my coat pocket cuz I had been wearing gloves that went over the watch-no luck. I figured maybe it fell off at home when I was lying down to rest before leaving. When I got home I found it-in the exact spot it was sitting all week-I had never even put it on!!!

I always walk out of the grocery without my packages. Then, one day, I saw 2 people walk out without their stuff. It made me feel good.

Today I put juice in DS's sippy cup, then tried covering the juice with the lid of the sippy cup!

OK, well, 10 minutes ago I was just about to pour myself a cup of seltzer when I heard my baby wake up. I put the seltzer bottle down on the table... and should have quit while I was ahead... but no. I decided I should put the cap on before dashing upstairs - and in my rush I knocked the bottle over and the whole thing poured out all over a stack of mail and bills.

This thread was fresh in my mind, so I just said, "Of course." Then I picked up my baby and got a towel to clean up the mess.

I put money orders in envelope. Seal. Put stamp on. And am ready to take it out to mail box. Along the way, grab some stuff for the garbage. Get busy, as its friday and after the garbage has been taken out, realize, I can't remember taking the envelopes to mail outside. Of course, I had to rip the bag to find the outgoing mail with 800 dollars worth of money orders in them!

Yup. I did worse. My son was being tutored with a rebbe in a shul and I couldn't find my keys anywhere. We looked and looked. I was so upset.

Then I went to my car and they were in the ingnition.

And this wasn't the best neighborhood either. I sheepishly informed the rebbe the search was off Tongue Out

I went grocery shopping a couple weeks ago. When I was done, I looked for my keys. Could not find them in their usual pocket-or any other pocket either. Went out to my car, and found it still running!! Doors locked. Its a good thing I keep a spare key in my pocket for just such brain-free moments!

On Friday, I got out of the shower and realized that I had shaved the same leg twice, and left the other a hairy mess.

Well, dh and I discovered that our car wouldn't lock one night. The switch opened all the lockes but wouldn't close them. So we closed each lock manually. We saved the back door of our minivan for last. As dh was about to slam it shut, he realized that his keys were in the ignition and that's why it wouldn't lock. He had to crawl in through the back and climb over the seats to get to his keys, and we only realized a while later that I had my copy of the key in my pocket the whole time.

I was standing by the shower nude with my hand in the running water waiting for it to be a good tempature when I realized that I was still wearing my bra. If it wasn't for the cold tempature of the water, I probably would have walked right in wearing it.

DH decided he would fix our plumbing. After about a week without a kitchen sink, he really did fix it -- and then, I put things away under the sink and knocked a connection out of whack and flooded the kitchen.

On Friday, dh decided that he's not getting deli for Shabbos since we always end up throwing away leftover chulent after serving it Sunday and Monday for supper. Shabbos morning, dh was getting ready for shul and decided to peek at the chulent to see how its coming along. That's when he noticed that the crockpot wasn't plugged in. I said that at least we had leftover chicken from Friday night, when we noticed that I never put it back in the fridge. To make matters worse, most of the kugel was in the chulent so it wasn't going to do us any good. Luckily, my mother lives 2 blocks away. Dh and ods walked over to my mother for lunch. While technically yds is able to walk 2 blocks, he is not the most well behaved 2 year old, and walking outside with him is a nightmare, so we stayed home and had challah, fish, cold kugel, and cheerios for lunch.
