Sometimes in the morning I go to put my contacts in and realize they're already in.
Once I woke up, looked at the clock, freaked that my alarm didn't go off, and jumped out of bed to get ready for work. Then I realized it was Shabbos!
Once after cooking for Shabbos on a late Thursday night, I stayed up until the food was done. I turned the oven off but left the food inside! All night! |
lol - its a ood thing it wasnt the other way around!!
I've also had mornings where I'll try to put in my contacts when they are already in...and better yet, I've tried to take them out when they are not in...ouch!

one time I was on the phone while taking some stuff out of the deep freezer. I hung up the phone, took the meat and walked out of the room.
our phone was missing for a week until the next erev shabbos when I opened the freezer again... |
This exact thing happened to me when pregnant with my first. Go Uniden! The phone revived itself.

sheeesh, I thought I was bad!
I say the funniest things when I'm half asleep and someone is talking to me. Dd was saying something about washing her hands to dh when I was asleep on the coach. So I called out 'you don't have to wash your hands for rainbow trout or even cute fish.' DH asked me 'what did you just say?' And I repeated it word for word.

I'm the same way. Both of my kids come into my bed at night. There are times they are both in my bed and I hear a neighbor's kid crying. I checked their empty bedroom many times. I also handed my 4-year-old his brother's sippy cup, gave my 2-year-old a yarmulka and tried paying my cleaning lady with a metrocard. |

I totally missed my own doctor's appointment. I didn't realize until the next day when they called to reschedule.

That's not so bad. Last year, I was cleaning out my pocketbook for Pesach and found a card saying that I had a dentist appointment in October. I couldn't remember going to the dentist, so I called and explained that I just found the card and can't remember if I went. Sure enough, I had missed the appointment. It only took me 6 months to remember.

I was at the grocery store and I kept putting my food in someone elses shopping cart!
The lady kept saying 'excuse me' and I was so confused. Why is she saying 'excuse me'
I am not in her way?
I was so embarressed when I realised what happened. I guess I was really tired!

Today I did a really bad one. I had money in my drawer, and wanted to use it so I went to get it. It was not there. I accused my dd (she has had sticky fingers in the past, and I had sent her for something in that drawer earlier today) that she took it. She left to school a bit upset. Later in the day, I found it in my pocket book, where I had put it cuz I knew yesterday that I would be using it today. I felt terrible. When I apologized to dd when she came home, she just looked at me and said "you must've been really tired." She is not even 10 yet. I gave her a good lesson on Dan Lekaf zechus, how I was sooo sure, and sooo wrong.

I once realized I missed a doctor's appointment when they called an hour after it was scheduled, wondering why I didn't show up. I was on my way to work half an hour's commute from my city, so I rescheduled for next week, promising the receptionist that I would write it down this time so I would not forget again.
Guess what phone call I got the next week on my way to work!!
I must say that it was an OB/GYN checkup when I was pregnant, so I do have some excuse!

our computer had a virus and had to be reformatted. so we backed up everything on our external. An hour later, I was working on my resume when DH came in and said he's taking the computer then to get reformatted. I saved teh doc on my desktop for easy access when he gets back in a few hours.
When he came back,,, I needed to start all over again. I forgot to save it to the external.

Judging by her response to you, she can give YOU lessons on how to BE dan lechaf zechus. You've got a great little girl, there.

Walked to my mom's house to return something of course I brought it right back with me. Took it again but forgot I did and called my mom that night to apologize for forgetting yet again. She laughed and told me she has it. Next morning I call DH frantic that I can't find the bag I need to return to my mother..... Don't even bother laughing- It happens on a daily basis. I need a desperate solution for my fading memory...
No one walked to the grocery with their garbage or post in hand?
Oh, and my cell phone's call history is filled with my home number- I am always looking for it!
