my husband and I both have the same phone, just mine has a crack down the front. tonight I was on the phone with a friend and I saw a phone on the couch. after picking it up, I realized it wasnt mine, so I asked my husband if he knew where mine was. (he didnt answer me cuz he didnt hear me) it took me about two minutes to realize that I was on my phone!!

I didn't hear dh tell me to hold the line while I was talking to him and ended up talking to myself for about 3 minutes till I heard him say "where did we leave off?"

Got the wrong type of peppers. Dh said, aren't these hot? I took a bite to see and it wasn't hot, so I said, no...here have a taste.
It was hot. Poor guy was in such pain! I apologized profusely because it really wasn't hot the bite I had, and my dd said "One end isn't hot..."
My hands were burning as well as I had started to chop the rest of the pepper.

Quote: | I tried to take out the pit from a avocado with a knife and the next thing I know is I have a huge hole in my hand. The knife cut through the pit and the avocado and right into my hand. It hit me so hard I felt like I got electrocuted. When I got the stitches the Dr. told me I should be happy it didn't come through my hand. I hope someone will learn of from this brainless idea and never remove a pit like this! |
Lucky you, I did much worse. I was trying to open a plastic cover on a mustard jar with a knife, which eventually slid and cut through the nerves between the area of my thumb and forefinger. I had to have surgery to repair the nerve. Now everytime I am near that knife my skin itches in that area lol.

Oh, that reminds me: always wash your hands AFTER you finish chopping peppers and BEFORE you brush a stray hair out of your eye.

A few weeks ago, I was washing the dishes and also trying to make pasta & cheese for supper.
So I took the bottle of dishwashing liquid and instead of pouring it in the sink, I poured it over the fresh spaghetti.
Kids told me the sauce tasted funny, mommy. | we made a fruit appetizer for my son's bar mitzvah, with two kinds of fruit purees - pineapple and strawberry, which were supposed to be poured in two-color layers into a clear tumbler. The hired waiters who set the tables used the yellow toned mayonaisy, vinegarry salad dressing instead of the pineapple! It looked beautiful, but most people left it over after tasting it. LOL (I should have lableled the containers,)

I was walking with my children today and I noticed that my 6 yr olds shoelace was untied. I asked him, didn't I already tie it by the doctor. He said, no. I know that we finished doing what we had to do and then he sat on the couch and I gave my other ds the baby to hold, I think, or so I thought, and then tied his shoelace. We were going back and forth, did I or didn't I. I was going a little crazy. I could have not done it because I always get distracted with one thing or another and it's so hot and the heat does get to you, you know?! In the end, my ds says, oh right, you did tie it, I remember now. It wasn't me after all , but I couldn't remember which is kind of pathetic. Either it came untied or it was the other shoe .

Actually I did wash my hands afterwards, but then I went upstairs and had a shower. I suspect there was a reaction between my soap and whatever acid remained on my hands and something in the soap. I washed but the only thing that burned was my hands, so there was no discernible capsicum left.

Today, being niddah now, I was holding a cup of water with my left hand, and when I wanted to switch it to my right hand, I first put it down and picked it up with my right--I couldn't pass!

ok, then what I did isnt half as bad!
in the hospital, right after giving birth, my in-laws came to visit. I was reading something on a paper and wanted to give it to my fil, but I was a nidda, and hes a man, so I started putting it down right in front of him. I caught myself mid-action and handed it to him!

I must be having too many senior moments lately. On two separate occasions in the last 2 weeks I said memorably stupid things which I won't repeat - you know, tactless & thoughtless (literally), not hurtful. But I was appalled at myself. I need to get my mouth & brain working simultaneously. Maybe a good night's sleep will help.

I'm younger than you and I too have senior moments. Just today I started telling someone something and after 2 sentences, I just said something else and then I completely forgot my point in the original thing. I still don't remember and it's really frustrating!!

that reminds of right after I got married and my fil was helping us move into our apartment. I kept putting things down instead of handing it to my fil since I was nidda and still getting used to the halachos! My fil finally commented to me that I only have to be careful with dh and not with him At the time I was mortified but now knowing my fil's sense of humor I can see that he found it hysterical!

This reminds me of a really funny story my friend told me. Her sister had just gotten married and her and the new husband came to them for shabbos. My friend was still single. She was in 10th grade I think. Anyways, they are all sitting down at the table eating and just talking and stuff, and her bil turned to her and said can you please pass me the salt. She said sorry I cant pass it to you because I have my period so im a niddah!!!! I was rolling!
