What kind of asparagus do you use? Garlic is pretty much verboten in my kitchen but I would try another recipe.

Haha, thanks! I only make recipes that are cheap.
The roasted pepper salad is- take a few whole peppers, put them in the broiler until they're burnt. Peel off the skin. Cut into strips. Add oil, fresh garlic, salt, and possibly a drop of lemon.

Banana peel chutney recipe I posted on my blog today. http://www.pennilessparenting.......html

Eggplant pepper and tomato dip is roast an eggplant at the same time as you're roasting the peppers above. Oh, and throw in another pepper if you're going to be making this salad. Again, peel the pepper, scoop the eggplant out of the peel, add tomato paste and maybe a little water, some garlic, and salt. Maybe also some sauted onion.

Chilbeh- take fenugreek seeds and soak them in water for a few hours. A lot of water. Pour off the water. Stick what is remaining in the blender along with some tomato and garlic and parsley. Season with salt and lemon.

Breadcrumb coated noodles mama bear just gave me the recipe. But I'm making it a drop different. Stick some shmaltz in a pot, add a drop of sugar and some homemade breadcrumbs from your leftover challah from last shabbos. Cook till the sugar carmelizes. Add garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and paprika and add to strained cooked noodles.

That's the basic recipe for the breadcrumb cookies, but I use coconut oil instead of shortening and water instead of milk.

Enjoy!

Fenugreek seeds are just that- fenugreek. It's a spice, called chilbeh in hebrew. I use coarsely ground fenugreek seeds for this.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fenugreek

The chutney tastes for the most part like indian spices- turmeric, and nigella (onion seed). The banana peels themselves do not have a powerful flavor at all, so you're mostly tasting the spices. If you add a banana to it, if its mushy, it'll taste more banana-ey. If you add a green banana, it'll taste slightly potato-ey.

I use your 'no fail' recipe from here with 100% whole wheat. We love it. I add a bit more water and only put 3 cups of flour the second time around. But I also add some flax and wheat germ, so I don't know exactly how much water or flour you would need. I also tried it with applesauce instead of oil, comes out great.

My plans for Shabbos meal (which will hopefully come to fruition):

Friday night:

Challah
Gefilte fish
Salads? Israeli and Bean? (I haven't yet confirmed this.)
Squash soup
Sweet curry chicken
sweet potato pie
zuccini and tomatoes

Something chocolate for dessert. Don't know what yet.

Shabbos Day:
Gefilte fish
Salads (leftover of the unconfirmed above.)
Leftover sweet potato pie and zuccini
Potato and bean cholent

Seudah Shlishi
Hardboiled eggs
Salad or vegetable of some sort (leftover of course.)
If there is any Gefilte fish life, then it will be brought to the table.

haha. the chicken sauce is 2 bottles mixed.... leave skin on chicken, cover in BBQ sauce (I used jack daniels' original) and sweet hot sauce (Frank's Spicy Hot BBQ Wing Sauce). Cover with foil and bake 1.5-2 hours, then uncover for 30 min.... that simple, but it was YUMMY.

roasted herb potato wedges- also simple. cut red potatoes into wedges (half, then thirds), drizzle with a nice amount of olive oil, sprinkle on salt and herbs- I probably used rosemary, parsley, and maybe thyme. don't know how long to cook for... sorry.

eh, it was a made-up recipe and the spices were off. I did like the combo of cauliflower and mushrooms though! plus, it was too liquidy at the end, so I added some instant mashed potato flakes and it worked great as a thickener!
