Daughter #2 and I were in the kitchen cutting up a pear Thursday evening to dip in some chocolate gelt I'd melted in the microwave. We're not snackers, and when we do, we're big on celery/peanut butter, just plain baby carrots straight from the bag, and my #2 and #3 have taken a liking to baby grape tomatoes. My kids aren't really into "sweet" things like apple slices, pears, grapes---which I thought ALL kids gravitated toward---so prepping fruit gave me an opportunity to discuss how we'd bless our treat, once prepared...
I said, "Okay, now think REALLLL HARRDDD...which brocha do we make for fruit?"
She thought a only a couple of seconds with such a serious look on her face, then suddenly her countenance lit up and she proclaimed
" FAH-ROOT Atoh Adonoy..."
Ahhhh, children....
