I'm making mini turkey balls for Thanksgiving as an appetizer. What sauce do you recommend? It's not being served with rice, rather, going to have little toothpicks in it as a pass around (w/o the pass around).
Recipes are very welcome. Thanks!

Yes - like meatballs with ground turkey instead of beef.
What did you think I was referring to...?

I figured that's what you meant. I just wanted to make sure that that was in fact what you were talking about, and not some fancy dish that I never heard of
I would go with a sweet half ketchup - half brown sugar sauce.

That sounds different...what's the recipe? Do you put the chestnuts in the turkey?

My sauce is one can whole berry cranberry sauce, one (small) can tomato paste, that small can's worth of water, a sauteed onion, brown sugar to taste. I broil the meatballs seperately then add to the sauce, I do not cook them in the sauce. It's my mom's famouse recipe, always a huge hit.

Tapuzi - that sounds so good! Do you just take the meat, put them in balls and broil them? Or, do you add stuff to the meat?

Oh, sorry. I do add to the meat- some oatmeal or breadcrumbs or matzo meal (maybe 1/4 cup per pound of meat), a squirt of ketchup, an egg, garlic powder, onion powder, pepper. I am sorry I do not have amounts my family never measures anything but always better to go light, they don't need so much flavor. Broil for like 5 mins on each side, then cook in the sauce a bit after you make the sauce.
