I do not have access to such a selection, usually I use any thin steak. If somebody has the original cookbook which I do not have near me currently, they may be able to clarify. Sorry!

What on earth is hot sauce, I have seen recipes, and never seen anything like it in my grocery???

Hot sauce is usually made from chili peppers. Many stores carry it, though perhaps by some other name. In general, I think they are put near barbecue sauces in stores.

chinese five spice powder to taste plus the soy sauce and a bit of sugar should do it.
