Wash down the oven and run thru a self clean cycle. Pay special attention to the crevices around the door. The inside of the door has to be covered afterwards with silver foil because supposedly the heat doesn't reach that area as well.

Though I asked for how it can be done other than self clean.

Clean it with caustic cleaner. Of anything doesn't come off, repeat. Anything left is fine at that point. Clean the door as well. No need to cover the oven door.Star k says to run the oven at 550 for 40 minutes. I think OU says for longer, maybe an hour? Major US kashrus agencies all have instructions for what to do.

I'm scared of easy off.
I guess there's no other way to do it?

I don’t think so. Ask your lor. A spray cleaner like Fantastik is probably not good but you can ask.

My rav says to do this and I know others who say the same. I only asked because I saw the oven door covered at a friend’s house and was as surprised as you sounded. You can ask your own lor and see what he tells you to do.
