I agree, make them pay for it or do a job towards it. In addition, I would buy a cheap back up pair for them.

I have an 11 yr old and 12 yr old with glasses. They don't break often, but when they fight, they sometimes threaten to break each others glasses. I always tell them: "If you do that, you're punishing your mother-- not each other." 'cos I'm the one who needs to arrange for a new pair.
Thankfully I'm in the UK where the NHS pays for kids' glasses. But they should definitely be having some responsibility.

I also bought from target and paid for the warranty. They were able to repair and not need to replace it for us but if they couldnt it you pay only like $25 for new frames and $25 for the lenses. |
I like the idea of paying it with nosh they got during Purim
If they do the chore they get paid back in nosh - you can set the price of the nosh
It’s their choice if they don’t want their nosh back

buy unbreakable glasses like nano brand. you can step on them and twist them and they never break.
they are more expensive but totally worth it.

Ummm no. Then these boys grow up to be irresponsible men.
