We have a minhag not to eat meat.
But only by the night meals.
By day we do eat the meat.

The reason is because of the men…. Meat can cause זרע לבטלה to happen at night by mistake so on Rosh Hashana we are extra careful not to have it at night.

Some minhagim get confused.

For example, my friend told me that in her family they never wore new clothes on Rosh Hashana bec her mother said on Rosh Hashana you should focus on davening and not on your new pretty clothing, which they saved fir sukkos.
I reminded her that it’s literally brought down to have a new fruit or new clothes on the second night because of שהחיינו, that we say and have that in mind.

In my family when we hear about such made up confused family traditions we call it minhag lo yodea, a minhag of ignorance which someone made up, or confused along the way.

But of course everyone should go by their minhagim. Sometimes it’s just a good idea to verify.

We don’t eat meat on rosh hashuna and that’s because rosh hashuna is not abt the food it’s more abt the davening and when you get home it doesn’t come in to eat now some high end meat.. that’s not the Mai focus of the Yom tuv, like u don’t eat all fancy cakes and desserts
