My son has been asking to pee on the potty a lot lately. He wears a diaper the rest of the time, but sometimes goes half an hour to an hour diaperless, not having accidents. He really likes peeing on the potty. Sometimes he wants to pee so badly but has nothing there that he'll force himself to go, even if its just a tiny drop (when I say tiny, I mean tiny. the wet mark is maybe is 2 inches in circumference).
I was gonna ask today how to teach him to poo on the potty, because he hasnt figured that one out. Yet, I turned my back and says "Mommy poopie", I said "No, that wasnt poopie, that was peepee, you only know how to make peepee on the potty"... and I looked, and it was a poo.
So proud of him. And good timing as well.
Anyhow, how do I teach him to pee/poo on the toilet? I have a seat on the toilet with steps and handles to hold on while sitting, yet he hasnt ever peed while sitting there. He'll climb on and off 20 times, and then when he has to pee, will run to the potty.
How do you transition, and at what point? Once they're fully trained? Or once they got the potty idea down?

I would keep him on the potty until you have him fully trained and then switch to the toilet
