to do lists, shopping lists, menus... we all make them but comes Yom Tov (or shabbat) and we remember that we forgot something!!!!

I was thinking to make a thread of all the things that went wrong this past yom tov so that when the next one comes by we can bump it and better prepare ourselves with the most common or least common things others have forgot in the past.

For me it was:
a)forgot dh's favorite drink
b)forgot to leave a candle lit to light for shabbat.

I forget that if I make way too much food, we'll get sick of it after days of leftovers. Strangely, nobody has gotten sick of the desserts.

You're going to have to fight my 10 year old, and when there's sugar at stake, he can be pretty scrappy.

Great topic!
Forgot that my milchig oven turns off automatically after being on for a bunch of hours, so I had no oven to warm up the lasagna. Instead we double wrapped everything and put it on the blech. It worked ok.
Forgot to buy more milchig serving pieces and knives.- used plastic, t-spoons etc.

I leave on a burner with fire ... if all else fails you can go to the basement and find a pilot light on the water heater or furnace ...
