cheese is good, but we mainly eat it with fleishigs. do you want some corn salad recipes? corn dip? corn kugel?

theres a great recipe in kosher by design. You bake the corn add olive oil and spices and leave the skin on...

first I make a mixture of margarine with a ton of garlic powder, or I'm sure you could use chopped garlic too. then I take the green off, rub the corn generously with the mixture, wrap tightly in silver foil, and bake.

If you like spicy, add cut up habanera or jalapeno peppers in the water and boil the corn. You can also do this using fresh herbs of your choice, such as dill or rosemary. The more flavorful you want it, the more of the peppers or herbs you add.

nicole, for how long do you bake it? Does it come out as soft as when you cook it? It sounds yum

hmm, I probably bake it for 30-40 minutes, I don't really count. honestly, I doubt you could really overdo it because it's wrapped anyway.

I never have boiled corn so I don't know if it comes out as soft, but it's not hard at all when I make it this way.

Boil the water first, BEFORE picking it from your garden

(I'm serious.... however you'd need to be growing corn in your backyard which I assume most of us don't!)

Very Happy

I boil it in water on the stove. add a little sugar to the water, and it really brings out a sweetness.

I just had some really good corn by a friends house.
Buy it in the husk.
Let it soak in a pot of cold water (with husks on!)
Then stick it in the oven for about 20-30 minutes on 350.
