My 17 month old son tells me "Poopoo" and I check him and he has a dirty diaper.
Is that a very young age to be aware of a BM? Or is it totally normal?
Would you do anything to start encouraging awareness of potty training?

Oh, I might mention that he is QUITE verbal for his age. Sometimes strings two or three words together, but mostly its just one word at a time.

It might be on the young end, but I think it's normal. You could try starting to train him, but he might have the awareness, yet not be physically ready for control.
