I am a pretty calm person from about 8:30am until 4;30pm. Then the fireworks begin!! I do not recognize the crazy lady that I become once everyone gets home!! I tried drinking an achol beverage to calm me down, that makes me MORE tired and irritable. Then I tried a calming tea, and there was no help in that. Is there a drug that can be taken short term for that time span???? any suggestions?? HELP! my kids are in grades 2 5 and 7

What exactly is the problem? Is it them or you? When my kids come home fighting, I usually right away put them in "time out" or lock myself in my room shock , j/k.

I completely understand you. My oldest is 10, k"h, and she tells me sometimes that she wishes she's a baby. I told her that sometimes, I wish she was a baby still, too Confused LOL .

I find that time to be very trying. A few things I have found to help:

Have a snack waiting at the table, hungry kids are cranky kids.

Have supper in the oven ready to serve

Don't try to accomplish anything else aside from homework, bath, supper and bedtime. The phone is only for emergencies, the computer is only for homework.

Establish a routine and stick to it as closely as possible.

Even if your home is small, find a private spot for everybody to get their work done, we all need to decompress, even children.
